My name is Mike Mazur and I’m a geoscientist living in Norway. I have a keen interest in the stuff that hits (or could hit) our atmosphere and am working on a number of interesting projects (http://www.phastt.net & http://www.fireballcameras.com) right now. One that we’re running right now is a campaign on Indiegogo to build an inexpensive fireball camera system and associated network for citizen scientists. Right now we need support. This could be by spreading the word to get people to visit our campaign or by joining the team to help develop the network to make it happen.

In Norway, fireballs have been getting more press lately (thanks to the norskmeteornettverk) and we have a couple of areas for meteorite hunts in the spring. This is encouraging but it wouldn’t have been possible without the video and seismic records that allowed us to come up with potential fall zones. We’ll see what happens when the snow melts…
